Family

Sangeetha Iyer, the great granddaughter of Shri Sivarama Saasthrigal who was ‘Sree Bhaagvatha Sapthaaha” discourser. He could recite and elucidate the whole of the 18,000 verses from the Great Purana, his father Sri Subbarama Saasthrigal, who was known as " Sapthaaha mahaasaasthrigal", whose lineage Sri Sivarama Saasthirgal followed in the discourse .He lived in  Nanu Pattar village, one of the Agrahaarams in Palakkad.Sangeetha was born in Kalpathy, in Palakkad District
( Kerala).  Her parents are Shri. Balasubramanyam and Lakshmi. Sangeetha was introduced to dance by her mother at a very young age.

Gurus

She was blessed to have initial training under Smt. Kalamandalam Premalatha and Smt. Kalamandalam Usha.  

She was trained in Mohiniattam by Smt. Kalamandalam Hymavathy the retd. Professor and the Dept. Head for Mohiniattam of Kerala Kalamandalam. 

She learnt Kathakali under Shri. Kalamandalam Soman, disciple of Padmabhooshan Kalamandalam Raman Kutty Ashan.

Apart from dancing she  enjoys acting and has done various Malayalam stage plays and received The Best Actress Awards for the Malayalam Play Aavarthana Virasam.
